ABOUT US
Jeannie Meows Animal Rescue began with one frightened kitty, one determined woman, and a community need that could no longer be ignored.
Our founder, **Virginia Morales**, started the rescue after she found herself desperately searching for medical help for a sick cat. She reached out for assistance, but no one in her town was willing or able to help. The only person who stepped forward was a woman who operated a rescue in another town.
That experience stayed with Virginia. She knew that people in her own community should have somewhere to turn when an animal was sick, injured, abandoned, or in danger. She also knew that animals should not have to go without care simply because local help was unavailable. From that moment, Jeannie Meows Animal Rescue began to take shape.
Today, we work to rescue vulnerable animals, provide foster care, arrange veterinary treatment, support community cats and their caregivers, and connect adoptable pets with safe, loving homes. We also help families through education, rehoming support, volunteer opportunities, and resources that encourage responsible and compassionate animal care.
At the heart of Jeannie Meows Animal Rescue is a belief that every animal deserves kindness, protection, and a second chance. We understand that rescue is not something one person can do alone. It takes foster families, volunteers, donors, adopters, caregivers, veterinary professionals, and neighbors working together.
As we continue to grow, our goal is to save more lives, expand our foster and volunteer network, strengthen our community programs, and make animal-care resources easier to access. We hope to build the kind of support system Virginia needed when she first asked for help—a place where people are heard, animals receive care, and no one has to face an emergency alone.
Together, we can create a safer and more compassionate community for animals and the people who love them.
